MOROCCO a model in the implementation of the European Neighborhood Policy



José Manuel Barroso, the President of the European Commission, was received by HM King Mohammed VI on Friday. The audience was attended by the European Commissioner for Home Affairs, Cecilia Malmstrom, ambassador, head of EU delegation in Rabat, Eneko Landaburu, and Moroccan Foreign Minister Saad Dine El Otmani. At the Royal Palace in Rabat, the sovereign and the President of the European Commission talked about the excellent economic and political relations between Morocco and the European Union. The kingdom was granted an Advanced Status by the EU on 2008, and for this purpose a Five-Year Action Plan (2013-2017) was set up. Thus, this audience was a great occasion to talk about the promising prospects for the renewed partnership between the two parties. Borroso reaffirmed to HM the King that morocco is a strong and credible partner and a model in the implementation of the European Neighbourhood Policy, thanks to the reforms and mega projects carried out under the leadership of the Sovereign in the political, economic and socio-cultural fields. The audience was also an opportunity to discuss the numerous regional and international issues of common interest such as matters related to the Euro-Mediterranean cooperation, the situation in the Maghreb and security in the Sahel-Sahara region Zineb Louh
